Mini-Documentary Beza Threads: In Ethiopia
In the summer of 2016, I traveled to Ethiopia with Beza Threads, an organization that helps rescue boys from sweatshops and girls from forced prostitution in Addis Ababa. While there, I went undercover inside three sweatshops and filmed the conditions inside, then contrasted those with the much-improved conditions at the knitting factory where the rescued children work.
I had the opportunity to interview several of the children and talk to them about their past lives in the sweatshops and brothels, and how much their lives have changed through the help of Beza Threads and their partner organization, Hope for Children, Ethiopia. I was deeply moved by the experience, and hope that I have the opportunity to return one day. Here you can see the three short videos I shot and edited from that trip.
